What I Do
I work as a sole consultant or as an Associate alongside consultancies and delivery teams, taking on anything from short advisory input to leading a programme evaluation from set-up through to final reporting and dissemination.
Facilitated development of funder-ready Theories of Change and logic models, including stakeholder workshops, mapping pathways onto measures and research tools and refreshing existing frameworks for live programmes.
Design and delivery of mixed-methods evaluations, including implementation and process evaluation and impact evaluation, for complex, multi-partner programmes.
Rapid and systematic evidence reviews and synthesis, drawing together existing research and evaluation findings to inform programme design or strategic decisions.
Evaluation frameworks and methodology sections for funding bids and project start-up phases, giving funders confidence in how impact will be captured from day one.
Large-scale survey design, qualitative fieldwork, stakeholder interviews, focus groups and accessible, child-centred methods including participatory and photo-elicitation approaches.
GDPR training, ethical approvals and data governance advice across multi-partner programmes, drawing on eight years' experience as a university Data Governance Guardian.
Facilitation of workshops and consultative processes, synthesis of complex qualitative and quantitative evidence and clear reporting for boards, senior leaders and policy audiences.
Working as an evaluation partner for organisations building in-house capability, including training and mentoring for staff who are new to evaluation.
Clients value clarity, pace and structure. I translate complex, multi-partner programmes into proportionate frameworks that are rigorous enough to withstand scrutiny and usable enough for delivery teams to act on.
I combine strategic evaluation design with hands-on delivery experience, having worked across higher education, schools and third-sector settings on everything from large-scale surveys to qualitative fieldwork with children and young people. I'm equally comfortable providing focused Associate input on a single deliverable, such as a Theory of Change refresh or a bid methodology section.
I'm known for handling sensitive feedback constructively and for presenting findings in ways senior leaders and boards can act on.
